The Secrets of the Kalahari tour starts in Maun to the central Kalahari game reserve (CKGR), Makgadikgadi, to Nxai pan, Ntwetwe pan in Gweta, and back to Maun.

Trip Highlights

Day 1

Meet and greet at Maun international airport and have a briefing about the tour and be transferred to the lodge or guest house. There is a chance of doing a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (optional)

Day 2

Early morning after breakfast, we leave for the central Kalahari game reserve and we should arrive in the afternoon.

Day 3

Morning and afternoon game drive in the reserve. Looking for desert-adapted animals which include, Gemsbok, springboks, Rehartbeest, ground squirrels, lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, and kudu, are among the animals we can see there.

Day 4

After breakfast, we do a morning drive on our way to Makgadikgadi and we will arrive in the afternoon. In this area, we will see large herds of Zebra, elephants, wildebeest, and giraffes. The sunset here is spectacular on the Boteti River.

Day 5

Morning game drive and proceed to Nxai Pan.

Day 6

Morning and afternoon game drive on the pans and animals visit the waterhole. Here we can see lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, elephants, and antelopes.

Day 7

We leave in the morning and visit the famous Baines baobab and also en-route to Gweta.

Day 8

Early morning drive to the pans and look for Suricates (Meerkat). There is a habituated group which we may have a chance to interact with. We will drive to Ntwetwe Salt Pans. Lunch will be in the lodge and then we drive back to Maun.
